“Thieves of the Wood” or “De Bende Van Jan De Lichte” is a contemporary drama set in the context of 18th century Belgium. In this historical series we find a charismatic Flemish jumper named Jan de Lichte who leads an uprising against the aristocratic occupation of Belgium led by Austria.

The cast of “Forest Thieves” is directed by Matteo Simoni as Jan de Light. Other notable characters that join Jan in his numerous adventures are Tincke (Stef Aerts), Helloise (Charlotte Timmers), The Shoe (Anemone Valcke), Meyvis (Rik Willems), Vagging, the Magician (Iwein Segers), the Guardian from the city of Baru (Tom Van Dyck) and Nicolaï Van Gelderhode (Rik Verheye).

Thieves of Wood Season 2 Release Date: When will it be released?
Season 1 of “Thieves of the Wood” premiered on Netflix on January 2, 2020 in 10 episodes.
Season 1 ends the story entirely and begins with the rise of Jan De Light, his rise to power, and his capture and execution. Therefore, the chances of the program being renewed are slim. However, when Netflix makes renewal decisions, target audience numbers are mostly considered. Therefore, we cannot definitely say that the series will never return, as there have been cases where the planned exceptions have been extended for several seasons.
So let’s wait for Netflix to announce. And if Netflix decide to order another season, it could be a prequel or a sequel with new faces. If it is renewed, you can expect the second season of “Thieves of the Forest” to appear sometime in January 2022, since historical dramas with all their detailed designs require a longer production time. Realistically, however, it is unlikely that there will be a second season of the show.
